Nor'easter blizzard January 12, 2011

As of4:45 pm today, I measured 24" of snow on the ground. At this writing at 6:37 pm, it is STILL SNOWING, so I won't get an accurate complete measurement until the storm stops if and when it stops! LOL!! So I will measure it tomorrow morning and that will be a better measure. It's beautiful out here and since we live on a secondary road, the plows only comes by intermittently which to me is fine. The still and the quiet is incredible!! Even when an occasional vehicle goes by, it is muffled by all the snow!!! I LOVE it! There's something beautiful in snow to me, just seeing it come down is so peaceful!! If we as mankind wouldn't fight nature and just live with what she gives us, I think we would all be happier. It's when we want to go against nature that we get frustrated and angry because she has interfered with all our plans. Sometimes there is a reason for storms, and at the time it might not seem so, but in retrospect you see that maybe if that storm hadn't come along when it did, there might have been a crime wave or something else. Nature makes us STOP what we are doing, and THINK, why is this happening, what can we learn from this. Instead of madly rushing about, we should be still for awhile, this is nature's way of making the earth "be still and rest" but man doesn't want it that way. Man wants to just keep pushing, pushing, pushing and maybe it's not good. We should let nature take her course, she's trying to teach us something if we would but only listen.

About Me

My photo
I can be very social, but then a recluse. I like my privacy when I'm working in my flower garden. I like to meditate there with God and the birds and the flowers. I love animals, all God's creatures and I can't stand people that abuse them! I strongly urge anyone that wants a pet to adopt from your local animal shelter. There are many loving animals that are at shelters waiting for a loving home. You can find me most of the time on Flickr where I have a photostream!
