Summer is leaving the Berkshires!

Some of the trees are slowly starting to turn and the days and nights are getting
cooler. I'm always sad to see summer go. It was such a short one this year! It seems like we really only had about 4 weeks of it! Well at least my tomatoes are
ripening on the vine and I think we will get some more summer squash before it's over with! If it rains too much the squash doesn't like it, so hopefully the rain
will hold off. We've had too much rain. I really wish we could send it to California where they need it! Shortly I will post photos of some of the trees that are starting to turn. My maple tree in my little backyard is starting to turn also!
It seems like just yesterday the new leaves were coming out! Well the cooler afternoons and evenings are perfect for walking and hiking, that's for sure! I haven't heard the geese flying over yet. They may have already and I just wasn't outside when they did! That's a sure sign when the geese start heading south. I get
a sweet/sad feeling when I see them go and I tell them to say hello to my family down
south!

This little baby found its way to me, I didnt find it. I was standing out in my field looking for birds when this little baby made its way to my shoe. Hopped right on me and up to my shoulder. I keep putting it back down on the ground and getting pictures of it but it just kept hoping right back to me. I finally put it in the tall weeds and walked back to my truck. I didnt see any parents around. Hope the little feller made it ok.

I love these late days of August in the evening although the mosquitoes threaten to carry me away! lol I love hearing the mourning doves cooing, and looking to the mountains, hearing the breeze through the two trees I planted when we first moved in.
Watching the birds. I'm content. This is where I am happy, in my little garden!
