Possible Effects of OCS Gas and Oil Activities on the California Gray Whale

Possible Effects of OCS Gas and Oil Activities on the California Gray Whale This is interesting reading!

!!!

YouTube - Mysterious Auckland Hum Ah HA!!

That's the sound I heard when we had the earth tremor in Georgia! It sounded like it was coming from under our house!
That's it! Yep! It has something to do with earthquakes and volcanoes or what some scientists call "seismic activity".
It's nothing "mysterious" it's just the natural sound of seismic activity!! Now why don't scientists TELL people this?
Because they like to treat everybody like mushrooms: "Keep us in the dark and feed us manure!" LOL!!

YouTube - Taos Hum, Brummton Phänomen, Zurich-Switzerland

YouTube - Taos Hum, Brummton Phänomen, Zurich-Switzerland I think this might be linked to seismic activity under the earth's crust since people have heard it all over the planet. I personally
think the earth's crust could be in a period of much instability as we have seen from all the earthquakes and volcanoes
popping up all over the planet lately. Maybe this is something that comes and goes in cycles. The inside of the earth is very violent because the core of our planet, so scientists say, is made up of molten iron. Anyway, I found it interesting
thought I would share it with you all. What piqued my curiousity is that Yahoo! had a report on "the hum" today, so I started looking it up. This recording was on You Tube. I'm not "swearing" on the originality of this recording. However if this is a real recording of it, I now know why it's so annoying to many people that can hear it!! ARrrrrgh! That would drive ME crazy! I have never heard this particular "hum" unless I actually heard it for a short time and thought it was a diesel truck idling. I think I possibly heard this once when we had a slight earthquake in Georgia around 1971. During the short
time of the tremor I remember hearing a humming sound, seemed to be coming from the basement of our house or UNDER our house and I ran to the window to see if there was some kind of big truck outside, there wasn't and the dishes started shaking. Shortly after that on the local news they reported we had an earthquake! lol So there you go, I think it has something to do with seismic activity. I'm going to do more research on this so "standby" for more!

Documents show vast cleanup of Plum Island land - Yahoo! News I hope you all don't think I'm being too negative or an activist although I think I can't help being an activist or advocate for our environment now. When I read about things like this, it's heartbreaking!! Can our planet survive?? WILL it survive? And at what cost to our health and the health of our children and grandchildren?? When is it ever going to stop?? Will we, the average Jane or John Doe be able to do anything about it???!!

and when we got settled in here in Massachusetts, I planted it, but really didn't think it would survive the winters here, but it did beautiful!
But that was when we lived in Adams, MA which is in a valley. When I tried to bring a rooting here up on the mountains, it didn't make it. However, we're closer to wildlife around here and something could have "eaten" it! lol

Here is Annie on her first visit to a classroom as part of our animal-assisted therapy program. She found this quiet perch under the computer but quickly warmed up to the students and enjoyed being petted and cuddled! She is looking for her forever home...could it be with you?

Everyone here loves Annie and feels LUCKY that she has crossed our path! Like all black cats, Annie was considered difficult to find a home for. But we predict that anyone still harboring superstitions will put them to rest after meeting this sweetie! Annie is just a little more shy and calmer than her sister Camilla. But once she's spent a little time with you, you'll find that she's very affectionate! She loves to be held and cuddled. She's been waiting for a good home for much too long. Are you the one she's waiting for?

Annie is currently in a foster program where she lives in a school petting zoo and is cared for by our students, who feed, groom, and socialize her. She's good with the children and gets along with the other cats and animals. She has been spayed, microchipped, and given her first round of vaccinations. We are located in West Chester, Pennsylvania. If you have room in your home and your heart for one or more of our sweet kitties, please e-mail us at Kids4Kats@yahoo.com!

PLEASE NOTE: THE REASON I AM REPOSTING THIS IS BECAUSE I FEEL IT IS SO IMPORTANT FOR ALL MY CONTACTS TO REMEMBER THIS AND NOT FORGET THE WILDLIFE THAT ARE SICK OR DYING FROM THIS OIL SPILL. IF IT DISTURBS YOU, I AM SORRY, BUT I FEEL SO STRONGLY ABOUT THIS. I DIDN'T EVEN REALIZE THIS PHOTO HAD MADE EXPLORE AND I DELETED IT. IT'S NOT MY PHOTO!! IT BELONGS TO CHARLIE RIEDEL OF THE ASSOCIATED PRESS. OUT OF THE GOODNESS OF HIS HEART HE HAS ALLOWED PEOPLE TO E-MAIL THESE PHOTOS, BECAUSE I BELIEVE HE FEELS, AS I DO, THAT PEOPLE NEED TO UNDERSTAND WHAT IS HAPPENING IN THE GULF OF MEXICO. THIS IS A BROWN PELICAN. THEY WERE JUST TAKEN OFF THE EXTINCTION LIST NOT TOO LONG AGO AND NOW BECAUSE OF THIS OIL SPILL, THEY MOST LIKELY WILL BE GOING BACK ON THE LIST. THIS IS SO VERY SAD. AS I SAID BEFORE, IF THIS DISTURBS YOU, THEN JUST DON'T LOOK AT IT. BUT IF IT HITS A NERVE OR TUGS AT YOUR HEART, THEN MR. RIEDEL HAS DONE HIS JOB. I BELIEVE HE SHOULD RECEIVE A PULLITZER PRIZE FOR THESE PHOTOS AS THEY REALLY HIT HOME.
PLEASE DO NOT PUT THIS ON EXPLORE, ALTHOUGH I KNOW IT WOULD GET A LOT OF EXPOSURE I DON'T FEEL RIGHT HAVING IT ON THERE AS I AM NOT THE AUTHOR OF THIS PHOTO. I AM REPOSTING IT TO SHARE, ONLY. I HAVEN'T BEEN ABLE TO GET DIRECTLY IN TOUCH WITH MR. RIEDEL AS OF YET. BUT HOPEFULLY I WILL SOON. I THINK THE MAN DESERVES SOME KIND OF AWARD AND I WISH FLICKR COULD GIVE HIM ONE!!
REGARDS,

And, Waffles is already DECLAWED! Are you the one who can give this sweet boy a forever home?

What will happen to our planet?

As the days go by and no end in site for the oil spill gusher, I'm wondering if this spill will have international effects soon. It's so sad, all the poor creatures being killed by this muck and the human lives it cost and human livelihoods it has cost. While we all feel frustrated and angry, can we really point our fingers at anybody? We are ALL to blame. The demand for oil is so great that oil companies are willing to drill in ecologically delicate areas. This is all driven by greed. We are greedy because we think we can just hop into our cars to go to the corner store. A lot of us are still not carpooling. Our obsession and addiction to oil doesn't just end with cars and vehicles. Look around you, nearly everything you have in your house, cleaning supplies, makeup, the floors, the computer, your cell phone your ipods, anything made from plastic comes from petroleum. We and I mean me and you, consume tons of petroleum made products everyday. From the packaging of our foods in the grocery store, to shampoos, brushes, toothpaste, etc. you name it, it probably has petroleum in it somewhere. I've been thinking over this last month, (yes it's been a month and will be two months on the 20th of June) just what we could do different if they ever find a way to shut the gusher off. It's so sad that America
the country that sent man to the moon, now can't shut off an oil well. One group of people that comes to my mind that DON'T use petroleum products at all (unless in their oil lamps) is the Amish people. Yes their ways seem quaint to us, but look at them. They are self sufficient and tight knit families and neighbors, they help each other out and they grow their own food. Their transportation is horse and buggy, but whats really wrong with that?? At least the only pollution may be "road apples"!! Which are biodegradable. If these people can live harmoniously without damaging the environment, WHY CAN'T WE? Because we think we HAVE to have this and HAVE to have that and we HAVE to go there, etc. etc. These people don't give a hoot about the modern world, they have no need for electricity, or assistance from the outside world. They are probably one of the most environmentally conservative people on the planet right now except for maybe some tribes of peoples on a remote island somewhere. We need to rethink our way of life. Although many of us don't want to be exactly like the Amish (although I don't see anything bad in their way of life) we can try and be more like them and more self sufficient and reduce our demand for electricity and petroleum products. The less demand there is for it, the less they have to keep drilling offshore. But alas, I feel that our world has become too greedy and many of the so-called "well to do" people are NOT going to change their way of life, even if it means destroying our dear planet. And where will these people go when our planet is dying? Well, actually, they will die with the rest of us unless they can somehow leave the planet in a rocket bound for.........where???
I hope we can stop the spill before our planet is totally damaged beyond repair. I read Chapter 8 in the Bible in Revelations. I normally don't like to thump the Bible at anybody, but I couldn't help but be stunned by what I read. The description in Chapter 8 of Revelations is so incredibly close to what is happening now, mentioning that all the creatures of the seas would die and the "earth would bleed". It also mentions the burning star or some object called "Wormwood" would hit the earth set it on fire! How easily that could happen if our oceans are covered in oil. Something to seriously think about. What can we do now. Not sure there is anything but to pray for a solution to this disaster. Pray hard, day and night. And if they do get it resolved, let us make a resolve to change our way of life, or maybe we will be forced to do it. God bless us all.

About Me

My photo
I can be very social, but then a recluse. I like my privacy when I'm working in my flower garden. I like to meditate there with God and the birds and the flowers. I love animals, all God's creatures and I can't stand people that abuse them! I strongly urge anyone that wants a pet to adopt from your local animal shelter. There are many loving animals that are at shelters waiting for a loving home. You can find me most of the time on Flickr where I have a photostream!
