Footbridge in Spring

Footbridge in Spring

This place is already teeming with life. At night you can hear spring peepers singing so loud it's almost deafening. Also for the first time since we have lived here, we hear toads singing! Maybe that's a good sign? I used to hear toads singing in Georgia along with the spring peepers but up here I never heard them until this year! I love hearing them call, it's really a comforting sound and reminds me of my childhood, now if we just could get Whippoorwills around here, it really would remind me of my childhood! The other night while watching the Lyrid meteor shower, (which by the way, as far as I could tell, was a dud, sometimes they aren't but this year they were, lol) I heard a Great Horned Owl calling nearby. I love it out here and I hope it never changes. The more wildlife the better. There's a silver lining to the economic situation we're in...no more housing developments for right now and I pray it stays that way! Give wildlife a chance!!

About Me

My photo
I can be very social, but then a recluse. I like my privacy when I'm working in my flower garden. I like to meditate there with God and the birds and the flowers. I love animals, all God's creatures and I can't stand people that abuse them! I strongly urge anyone that wants a pet to adopt from your local animal shelter. There are many loving animals that are at shelters waiting for a loving home. You can find me most of the time on Flickr where I have a photostream!
