I used to grow "Rose of Sharon" in Georgia like crazy. They are in the Hibiscus Family but have smaller flowers. I LOVED them, they were so easy to propagate from seed. These are more the tropical versions I believe. This ISN"T growing in my yard, although I wish it was! lol I brought a "Rose of Sharon" shrub with me from Georgia,
and when we got settled in here in Massachusetts, I planted it, but really didn't think it would survive the winters here, but it did beautiful!
But that was when we lived in Adams, MA which is in a valley. When I tried to bring a rooting here up on the mountains, it didn't make it. However, we're closer to wildlife around here and something could have "eaten" it! lol

I love animals, all God's creatures and I can't stand people that abuse them! I strongly urge anyone that wants a pet to adopt from your local animal shelter.
