PLEASE NOTE: THE REASON I AM REPOSTING THIS IS BECAUSE I FEEL IT IS SO IMPORTANT FOR ALL MY CONTACTS TO REMEMBER THIS AND NOT FORGET THE WILDLIFE THAT ARE SICK OR DYING FROM THIS OIL SPILL. IF IT DISTURBS YOU, I AM SORRY, BUT I FEEL SO STRONGLY ABOUT THIS. I DIDN'T EVEN REALIZE THIS PHOTO HAD MADE EXPLORE AND I DELETED IT. IT'S NOT MY PHOTO!! IT BELONGS TO CHARLIE RIEDEL OF THE ASSOCIATED PRESS. OUT OF THE GOODNESS OF HIS HEART HE HAS ALLOWED PEOPLE TO E-MAIL THESE PHOTOS, BECAUSE I BELIEVE HE FEELS, AS I DO, THAT PEOPLE NEED TO UNDERSTAND WHAT IS HAPPENING IN THE GULF OF MEXICO. THIS IS A BROWN PELICAN. THEY WERE JUST TAKEN OFF THE EXTINCTION LIST NOT TOO LONG AGO AND NOW BECAUSE OF THIS OIL SPILL, THEY MOST LIKELY WILL BE GOING BACK ON THE LIST. THIS IS SO VERY SAD. AS I SAID BEFORE, IF THIS DISTURBS YOU, THEN JUST DON'T LOOK AT IT. BUT IF IT HITS A NERVE OR TUGS AT YOUR HEART, THEN MR. RIEDEL HAS DONE HIS JOB. I BELIEVE HE SHOULD RECEIVE A PULLITZER PRIZE FOR THESE PHOTOS AS THEY REALLY HIT HOME.
PLEASE DO NOT PUT THIS ON EXPLORE, ALTHOUGH I KNOW IT WOULD GET A LOT OF EXPOSURE I DON'T FEEL RIGHT HAVING IT ON THERE AS I AM NOT THE AUTHOR OF THIS PHOTO. I AM REPOSTING IT TO SHARE, ONLY. I HAVEN'T BEEN ABLE TO GET DIRECTLY IN TOUCH WITH MR. RIEDEL AS OF YET. BUT HOPEFULLY I WILL SOON. I THINK THE MAN DESERVES SOME KIND OF AWARD AND I WISH FLICKR COULD GIVE HIM ONE!!
REGARDS,
MARLENE ANSLEY

  1. Marlene, we need to distribute this photo as much as possible. It kind of says it all.

You are a beautiful soul, Marlene, and I am so glad I met you.

Someday, we will be in a world, perhaps not this one, where we will all live in perfect harmony with our animal brothers and sisters, and no one will kill them or harm them.
    Love You, Sis!

About Me

My photo
I can be very social, but then a recluse. I like my privacy when I'm working in my flower garden. I like to meditate there with God and the birds and the flowers. I love animals, all God's creatures and I can't stand people that abuse them! I strongly urge anyone that wants a pet to adopt from your local animal shelter. There are many loving animals that are at shelters waiting for a loving home. You can find me most of the time on Flickr where I have a photostream!
