Red and green!

I was walking through the woods and found this unusual plant! It had
one leaf and a red berry. I have seen some with two or three leaves
but just one berry! Anybody know what it is?

I love animals, all God's creatures and I can't stand people that abuse them! I strongly urge anyone that wants a pet to adopt from your local animal shelter.
