My daily life (when I have time to post) of living in Northwestern Massachusetts in the Berkshire mountains. My photos of the area and when possible, photos of wildlife and my tiny garden which I'm trying to attract wildlife with. Also my beliefs in the environment and protecting it as well as astronomy and space travel.
This looks soo beautiful! I would love to be there right now!
My Dad took me to this drive in way back in the 1970s. It's in Spartanburg, SC and it has the best barbeque sandwiches and iced
tea in the country! It's a Spartanburg landmark and has been there
since my Dad was a young man!
Very sweet face!
It's so good to see smiling faces and beauitful children!
My mother used to have some of these and she gave me some.
I had them wherever we moved and would replant them. But the last
place we lived in Georgia, they didn't come up. I think a squirrel must have gotten the bulbs. They would remind me of my mother
everytime I looked at them!
This looks like a chipmunk, but I guess out west they call them "ground squirrels". He said it nearly crawled right up to the lens of the camera! So cute!
IN FLANDERS FIELDS by Lt. Col. John McCrae
In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.
We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields.
Take up our quarrel with the foe;
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.
The author of this poem, a member of the first Canadian contingent, died in France on January 28, 1918, after four years of service on the western front. (World War I).

This flower is soo beautiful. From my friend's garden.
For all our soldiers that are serving and have served and for
those that died in the service of our country and their fellow
soldiers.
Dedicated to all our soldiers present and past. To all those fighting this moment and those that have and to those that died
defending our country and their fellow soldiers. I salute you.

This is so beautifully done it looks real!! That's what I loved about the
Catholic churches both here and over in Europe, they would bring the
Bible alive with their artwork!! Stunning!

I will never be the same after seeing this!! We are just grains of sand
on huge beach! And yet God knows everything we do, that makes
you realize that God IS THE GREAT SPIRIT!! The GREAT SPIRIT IS EVERYWHERE!!!
All God's creatures together on this tiny dot in the universe we call
earth!! When you look at the Hubble space images, you know we
are definitely not alone in the universe, now!! :-)
